Full-time
Experience
1–3 years

The Corporate & M&A team in Berlin advises owner-managed businesses, mid-sized groups and their shareholders. We support reorganisations and succession planning as well as the purchase and sale of companies and shareholdings. The matters are of a manageable size and the teams are small. So you do not work on one fragment; you follow a matter from the first meeting through to closing.

As an associate with one to three years of experience, you will review documents, draft agreements and resolutions and prepare negotiations. You will deal directly with clients. Where a transaction raises employment or data protection questions, you will coordinate with colleagues from those practice areas.

Dr. Katharina Hallström will be responsible for your induction in person. In the first months you will work closely with her. After that you will gradually take on work packages of your own and, where appropriate, smaller matters under your own responsibility. Once a quarter we discuss together how your work is developing and which topics you would like to explore in more depth.

We value careful work and clear language, both in writing and in conversation. You will use English regularly, especially in transactions involving parties from abroad.

Is this role for you?

A good fit

You have passed both German state law examinations with good results and have one to three years of experience in corporate law. You write precisely, in German and English, and enjoy working in a team.

Less of a fit

If you would prefer a large transaction team with a strict division of labour, or mainly want to conduct litigation, this role is less of a fit. Our work here is broad.

What we offer

A salary in line with comparable firms and a dedicated contact for your development. In addition, a budget for training and specialist literature, flexible remote work by arrangement and an office in Berlin-Mitte. Working hours stay predictable because we only take on as many matters as the team can handle with care.
