Factual, approachable
“First we put the facts in order. Only then is it worth talking about contracts.”
Dr. Katharina Hallström Dr. Katharina Hallström founded the firm in Berlin together with Dr. Jonas Ostermeyer. She advises companies and their shareholders on reorganisations, investments and acquisitions.

Before founding the firm, she spent several years at a large business law firm. There she learned how transactions are organised, and how much effort is lost when responsibilities remain unclear. That experience still shapes the way Hallström Ostermeyer works.

Her second focus is IT and data protection law, particularly where data forms part of a transaction. Her doctoral thesis dealt with the liability of management. She speaks regularly on business succession and is responsible for the training of associates in the Berlin office.

“Disputes are not solved by escalation, but by establishing clear legal boundaries.”
Dr. Jonas Ostermeyer Dr. Jonas Ostermeyer founded the firm in Berlin together with Dr. Katharina Hallström. He represents companies, shareholders and corporate officers in commercial disputes and corporate law matters.

He previously spent many years as a litigation lawyer at a major business law firm, handling court and arbitration cases. That experience established his view that protracted court proceedings can often be avoided when facts are examined objectively from the outset.

Alongside trial work before German courts, he regularly advises on shareholder disputes and post-closing transaction claims. He holds a doctorate in commercial arbitration and oversees the dispute resolution practice across the firm's offices.

Our Approach

Four principles for dependable legal advice

Principle 01
Facts first
We start with your records and actual operating procedures. Only once the factual foundation is clear do we formulate strategic legal recommendations.
Principle 02
Dedicated partner lead
A partner holds personal responsibility for your matter. You always know who is working on your file and whom to contact.
Principle 03
Predictable fees
We agree scope, timetable and fee arrangements in writing beforehand. If parameters change, we raise adjustments early.
Principle 04
Practical utility
Legal advice should enable commercial decisions rather than stall them. We deliver clear documents, negotiated contracts and practical guidance.
